Indoor Nationals and JOAD Indoor Nationals set for final weekend showdowns in Michigan, Mississippi and Virginia

After 15 events in 13 locations, spread across seven weeks, stretching coast to coast and involving thousands of athletes, the 57th USA Archery Indoor Nationals and 2026 JOAD Indoor Nationals reach a conclusion this weekend with competition across three states.

Almost a thousand archers will gather in Michigan, Mississippi and Virginia, after which national champions will be confirmed.

_There will not be a USA Archery Indoor Nationals Final this year, but rather prize money will be distributed based on the final combined results from all Indoor Nationals locations for each gender and division (bow type). Previously, prize money has been for those in the top six. For 2026, there will be prize money for the top 10._

There will likely be changes to those standings in the coming days as more archery talent gathers for this final push.

Among those competing in Virginia will be 2024 Olympian, Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez in recurve women. Compound women will include Sydney Sullenberger, a team silver medalist at last year’s World Archery Championships and World University Games. Ephraim Tonn-Bourg, a double gold medalist at the 2025 Youth Para Pan American Games, is also on the line in Virginia.

There will be a whole host of archers who enjoyed podium success during last year’s USAT Qualifier Series, such as Jamie DiGiacomo, Nathan Jackson, Isabella Kim, Jamie McCarrison, Delana Puryear and Sharon Totton.

Mississippi will witness be the triple gold medalist from last year’s World Archery Youth Championships, Savannah O’Donohue, plus USAT Qualifier Series medalists Riley Adams, Elijah Hillensbeck and Brody Wonch, while 2025 AAE Arizona Cup runner-up in recurve 50+ women, Lori Cieslinski, will take to the line in Michigan.

Across all three locations, there will be archers representing up to 30 colleges, underscoring the event’s reach from grassroots to elite pathways.

National champions will also be finalized in the 2026 JOAD Indoor Nationals. With one final weekend remaining in the 2026 JOAD Indoor Nationals, multiple youth divisions remain finely balanced as archers in Michigan, Mississippi and Virginia prepare to determine national medalists.

Across recurve, compound, barebow and fixed pins, recent leaderboard movement has set up dramatic finishes in several age groups.

In recurve, the U21 men’s division has seen Jacob Lanahan edge into the gold-medal position with 578, narrowly ahead of Chanyoung Mun, while U18 women is now led by Grace Joung on 581 after a late surge. The U15 ranks have also shifted, with Jaden Phan setting the pace in U15 men and Allison Huang currently holding bronze in U15 women. In the youngest category, Iris Lee has established herself as the archer to beat in U13 women.

Meanwhile, two points splits the leading four archers in recurve U21 women, with Akshara Vijay and Charvika Gopi having shot the same score. Vijay is in the gold medal position due to landing one more arrow in the 10 ring than Gopi!

Compound divisions are equally competitive. Caleb Quiocho has moved into first in U21 men, while Miranda Meighenleads U15 women by the narrowest of margins. In U13 men, Wanli Chen sits in the gold-medal spot heading into the final weekend.

Barebow and fixed pins divisions produced some of the most notable movement with last weekend’s events. Medina Otajagic currently tops barebow U18 women, while Anna Li leads U13 women. In fixed pins, Jack Moorhouse has taken control of U18 men, with tight margins separating the podium contenders.
